China Trip Part 3 – Suzhou Part 2

25 August 2016.

After the experience I had the day before with the local tour, I decided to explore the city on my own on this day.

But the first thing I did was to purchase my train ticket from Suzhou to Shanghai for 26 Aug 2016 in case I am not able to get any seat. I took the hotel shuttle to the train station and bought the ticket.

Then I walked back from the train station to the hotel which took me about 40minutes walk.

I rested in the hotel before heading to the famous Humble Administrator Garden in Suzhou. It was a 10 minutes ride by the hotel shuttle.

After the Humble Administrator Garden, I went back to hotel for a rest. I had planned to go to Jinji Lake (金鸡湖) – Golden Rooster Lake for night photography as I have found out that it will be a nice place. I walked again to Suzhou Train Station for about 50 minutes and purchased a Metro train ticket. To go to Jinji Lake, I took line 2 and transferred to line 1 at one of the stops. The whole journey took about 40 minutes to reach the place. When I arrived, I realised that Jinji Lake is located at the Suzhou Expo Centre. I began to snap pictures as I waited for the night to fall.

With this, I ended my short trip in China as I checked out from the hotel at 7am on 26 August 2016 and headed towards Shanghai Pudong International Airport. From Soul Hotel, I booked a cab to bring me to Suzhou Train Station which cost about $24 RMB and then I took the bullet train ($39.50 RMB) from Suzhou Train Station to Shanghai Train Station. From there, I took Airport Express Bus No 5 ($22 RMB) to Pudong Airport.

At the airport, I realised again that security is very tight in China, as all bags need to be scanned even when entering the building itself. Lighters are not allowed to be brought into the departure area.

Then I waived goodbye to my beloved China! I wish that I can come back again next year.
